I will def. be taking the first doe that gives me the right shot during october. novemeber is a different story. I'll hold off hoping that just behind those does walks a big horn head

Guys I'm all for taking does.....if it's needed. But in some herds (Rob/PA's for example)....it isn't needed. I don't blame him for NOT shooting does. He'd only be hurting his herd if he DID take does.

i will not think twice of shooting a doe i have not got that first kill yet. besides that i hunt for meat i want meat in the freezer not antlers on the walls. not to say if a 130 plus bucks walk by he will make it home

Does make better meat in my opinion. I'll try and kill at least one doe this year, hopefully two does and one buck. If I decide to do the late doe only season here in IL I'll be looking at three does.

I always shoot 1-2 strictly for my freezer and if my area seems out of whack population wise, I do have people who will gladly take a deer. Last season 2 does for my freezer and my son took one for his. Neither of us shot a buck.
