I cant shoot a buck till i shoot a doe. We have earn a buck here in jersey, so the first one to come by gets it. After that, i try to take one whenever i can, given i have time to take care of it.

Big, little, tall, skinny, eight to eighty, blind, crippled or crazy.... I shootskillet headsevery chance I get.

I shoot them relentlessly - except for specific buck/rut oriented hunts. We have so many does. The landowner wants them gone and the herd is unbalanced.

This a doe came by last season at around 8:30am with a couple others it was on alate oct to early november morning.
As i watched her walk by i thought to myself what an easy shotAny other time i may have taken that doe and she would be heading home with mebut not so close to the rut.
So she got a free pass.

As a wise old hunter once told me "antlers are nice to look at but they don't make good stew".
