I will have photos and precious memories in my mind when my loved ones have passed that will suffice (naturally) in my mind to help me cherish their memories.

For enough $$$.....the same would suffice for the deer I've taken.;)

ORIGINAL: AF Hunter

The Albia buck sold for 1.5 million. If I had a huge rack and a sporting goods store wanted to buy it, I would consider renting it at X dollars per year until they obtained a larger one. But outright sell it, I don't think so, but it would be hard to say for sure until the situation arose.
Sorry AF, but this is urban legend.I live very near Albiaand have an inside to the truth about the buck. That deer was sold for less than $200 thousand which included 4 Knight rifles and 4 replica mounts. One of the replicas spent some time in the hardware store 2 doors down from my business. Even huge racks are worth far less than most think.I also know of a 234" non-typical that sold 5 or 6 years ago. It got a lot of attention from collectors all over and finally a collector from Kansas bought it for $7,500. The really big money in deer racks is just not there. You can buy a 222" rack off ebay right now for $5,500.

I said I would sell one until I shot one worth any money. Had a guy offer $7,500.00 and a replica for it at an outdoor show and i turned him down. I would have done it had he offered $10k and a replica.

lets see.....i have the pictures. i have the new 100 acres of prime illinois land to scout for hopefully bigger deer. i have a new bow. all because some yahoo city slicker wanted to pay me some insane amount for my mount cause he wanted to build himself an "authentic log cabin"

Sorry bigun your gonna have a new home.

Right here is my feelings

ORIGINAL: Greg / MO

I guess this all goes back to what's "good money" for someone...

I've seen what those racks bring on e-bay, and it's not near enough -- for me.

The only way I'd do something like that wouldn't be possible in your hypothetical scenario, but I'd only do it if it was a world-class enough deer that Cabela's or Bass Pro wanted to purchase it for at LEAST $10,000 -- and then, only after a replica set of antlers was made to meet my approval and satisfaction.

I probly would for the right price ($100,000 or so) and if I got an exact replica.

Antlers dont pay the bills! LOL!
