Would you sell your best rack?

A co-worker of mine shot a huge 7x5 a few years back. His biggest buck ever. Under a lot of disbelief, he chose to do a simple antler mount instead of a full head. Today as we were putting an addition on to a taxidermists home, he showed the picture to the taxidermist and he scored it at 168, but with deductions he said 153. Then it was brought up about the amount of money he could get from it off e-bay. I hope he's not considering it. Now to my question. Would you sell your best rack? And getting a replica of it is not an option. Just up and selling it. Or would that be something that is just irreplaceable?

I duuno about my best..but I sold a lot of scrub racks on ebaythat had been laying around camp for decades. These hobbiests, craft people, knife makers, went nuts for them.Although in hindsight I question the legalities of it.

I guess this all goes back to what's "good money" for someone...
I've seen what those racks bring on e-bay, and it's not near enough -- for me.
The only way I'd do something like that wouldn't be possible in your hypothetical scenario, but I'd only do it if it was a world-class enough deer that Cabela's or Bass Pro wanted to purchase it for at LEAST $10,000 -- and then, only after a replica set of antlers was made to meet my approval and satisfaction.
