Snake Season? Pffft

In Louisiana and Texas you need to be aware and ready when in the woods. I'm just saying.

Shoot, here in Iowa rattlesnakes are protected and you get fined if caught killing one. Having a picture like that would lighten your wallet. Thats why I never take pics of snakes!

You can kill them all day here and most of the game wardens will encourage you to do so.

Do you guys in the south have a season for rattlesnake?
January through december......

Guys it's not just hunters who are affected by this. children and pets are the main concern. It's easy to say that you would walk around a rattling snake. would your six year old sister? what about your two year old kid? What about your best dog?not all rattlesnakes rattle, canebreaks hardly ever rattle. I've killed them ten feet from my front door before, is there any other solution for that scenario?
I would kill ANYTHING that threatened my family ..... but if I am walking along and I see a snake, I am not gonna go outta my way to kill it ...so I see what you are saying on a protection deal ... but not just to kill

Hey this turned into a bitter debate faster than GMMAT can floss his cats teeth!

I tell ya I'm from the north too and if there was any chance that, that fella would be curled up in my blind waiting for the morning sun, I'd make a new quiver out of his butt.

Those deer we're after, ain't hurting nobody either....are they? [:-]

I never understood killing a snake for no other reason than it was a snake....then I spent some time in Australia. Still doesnt apply to stateside for the most part tho - most species are easily identified and there are very few poisonous varieties.

As far as what to with it....well, if you can figure out how to hold it strait...[8D]
