Default GPS's & Bows

I have been turned around and lost many times tracking deer in the dark...

I have been100 yards from my treestand and found myself in a panic wondering where to go next... Its crazy, HAVE YOU BEEN THERE?

Today I received my Garmin GPSMAP 60CSX. It will help me in the woods...but most importantly help me in Quebec bear hunting, and on extremely long rides out in the middle of nowhere on my Polaris.

Do you guys rely on GPS's? And what models do you use?

I use a Garmin Venture HC, and it seems to work well. I still carry the old map and compass though.

I have one on my wish list for XMAS, but in the meantime I always carry bright eyes and spare batteries.......was lost a few years ago dragging a buck in bear country with a dead flashlight, you ever had that feeling something is following you ...

I have a low grade model that I started using this year MW74...and YES, I have been twisted up big time before and guess what?.....on the military base I hunt you only have 1 hour to get back to the gamecheck station to turn in your hunting passes so you better believe I pay close attention to everything I do in the woods. Your GPS will help you bigtime. I walked in last year with mine in the complete darkness just to play around....got a mile back in the woods and was only 30 yards off my intended stand site.....they are invaluable. Bring extra batteries just in case/and a compass.

Me 2, just bought it yesterday. Should make these Florida swamps a little easier to get around. I could use a copy of the TOPO maps though if someone has a copy that they don't need.

MW, you made a great choice. I have had that same GPS for the last few years for hiking, mtn biking and road trips. The compass feature is nice among other things. Get the topo map if you haven't already.

Yes guys....my buddies are down loading all of the extra topo stuff for me..I can't wait to learn it....We put 60 miles a day on in Quebec (with our quads) and the Garmin 60CSX brought us back from the bush every day with zero issues....

A great tool...I still have a 2 dollar compass pinned to my pack in case all else failsand paper topos
