Read any good bokks, lately, PT?

If you read an article in ESPN the magazine on MLB baseball players.....and they stated that the most common of bats weighed in at 6oz......would you find that FACT "misleading"?

Nevermind that it's 100% factual.

I got in on this one late obviously, and I've read the first 3 pages.....I apologize if this has been covered already.

But....is it necessary for a heavy arrow to have the same speed as the light arrow for it to have more momentum? I was shooting a 355 grain arrow, last year, at 318 fps. This year I'm shooting a 480 grain arrow 280fps.....that's nearly a 40 fps difference, and the heavy arrow carries both more KE and momentum.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I may very well be....But unless the heavy arrow is flying just painfully slow......It's gonna beat out the light arrow every time.

Throw a ping pong ball as far as you can then throw a golf ball the same.[:-]

Then throw both at your neighbors bay window, you will then knowthe benefits and detractions of both speed and momentum.

Absolutely not

What got me thinking about this is some numbers posted up in another thread.

Someone mentioned shooting a 501gr arrow at 250fps.

I know I'll be shooting a 374gr arrow with more KE.

So speed DOES make a difference. Does the heavier arrow have more "momentum"? Don't know. Don't know how to compute it OR what the advantages are (in real life terms) as it pertains to it being "better" or "worse" than KE. I DO know the measurement cited most is KE. And....I know I'm pushing more than "that guy" with a lighter arrow.

That's why I posted this thread. At some point there MUST be a point of diminishing returns. Where the point is.....I actually don't know.

I don’t know what got into me. I don’t know why I would think…….reading an article in Deer and Deer Hunting magazine…….reading an article touting the advantages of a heavier arrow over a lighter arrow…….reading quotes where the author says “arrow” in the second sentence quoted…….

I have no idea how I would have jumped to the conclusion that he was referring to arrows as being the “object” of the thread. I must be crazy.

And TFox….I think figured it out. If I’d posted…..”Do you think this joke’s funny?”……and someone posted up, real quick, “NO”……….

I suppose it would be hard to come back, after that, and say you finally “got it”.
watching you work your threads cracks me up!!!!

you must be attention starved

I'm calling ......

OMG, that was funny! LOL!
