My alley problem...
#1
Ok i had a thread about this and guys I appologize, I cant find it. But I still remember where everyone was getting at with it, and it was something in the twists of the cables.
Ok when i bought my bow, I also bought new strings/cables from gibblet. I took them to the shop and told them to set everything up and set it at 65lbs.
Well it turned out the cams have a little lean in them, and the cable did not wanna seat into the bottom cam track. so they twist and play twist and play and they finnally get it to seat properly.
(I use the term "seat" for lack of better)
Problem solved all is good, I shoot and shoot, living the good life, then I decided I wanna see what kind of speed I can get out of her with a 350grn at 70lbs.... So i take it down one day and tell them to bottom her out, they did, and it was still 65lbs,
most on my original thread said, the scale was probably wrong... but if Im pulling 70lbs, then Im ready for a 80lb bow
.
The shop Checked ALL my specs EVERYTHING matched.
Then the HNI'rs went on to explain about twisting the cables to achieve the poundage back. Well I havent taken it back or any further than that i fear of messing my cam "sync" up.
Sheew... so what say ye again guys?

First of all....this bow was one I sold Aaron.
Now....let's remember who you took this to. They had a RASH of problems with Bowtech MODULES. We're talking MODULES, here......(in my best AI). This isn't exactly rocket science stuff.
Now these SAME guys are talking "cam-lean" to you and twisting your cables??????
Aaron.....in my best Andy Taylor....."CALL THE MAN" (if you saw that episode.....you'll get it")
You've got your ferrari at the yugo dealership and they can't figure out why you can't get to 180mph. That's not surprising.

I know exactly what you mean, TFOX was on last night when i posted, he was trying to help over in Matt/TN thread so I made another post, he must not have seen it.
And the modules were a different shop than this one, Robby's has always been good on there stuff, they got some good knowledgeable people there, but when this happened they seemed not to care too much....
I know it's NOT the bow.

If Robbie's sells Bowtechs....they haven't had them long. I bought my Switchback, there....and I'm betting 90+% of their sales are Mathews. Not exactly a binary cam expert haven.
I told you where to take it. Call Greg At Deer Run Archery. Tell him we're friends...and that the bow came from me (his shop). Hell dissect your issues and tell you what to do to correct it. If you want....I'll meet you up there. My curiosity is piqued.

I will do just that as soon as I get the chance. Robbys doesnt even sell bowtechs.. but they do sell Elites(bi-cam) but like you said not long. I guess not what you would call thema "Pro Shop"

I'm not putting them down, Aaron. I think Jake is a fine technician on things he knows. But....he didn't sell you the bow....doesn't sell Bowtechs....and doesn't make his money off repairing somewhat new equipment (that he didn't sell...and likely isn't going to get a future customer from).
I don't blame him.
Take it to Greg.

If only Jeff hadn't dry-fired it before he sold it to you, you wouldn't be having these issues.
Jeff we need to drag you out on another 3D course before the year is over

They twisted the cables on a binary cam to correct the lean?
Maybe because I've never done it to fix lean or maybe because I'm tired from a busy day, but I can't wrap my head around that.
I've done it to correct timing.
I've done it to correct lean on single cams and cam and a half's, but a binary cam?
I've worked on Elite and Bowtech... Huh? If you can explain it to me, please do.

Forgot to mention in the above post...
Don't be worried about your cam timing. Have them twist/untwist until the cables are back at the lengths they should be.
If one hasn't stretched more than the other since they were previously twisted/untwisted, you should be back to 70# and youur timing should be fine.
