You did great Rob. Everybody takes this SO personally. My questions were "in general".

Let me ask this question.....since I'm not a P&Y member.

Do they accept gun kills? We'll start, there.

It is a gun kill. This is not from P&Y. It is from this years Dixie Deer Classic's scoring records.

Well let me ask this......

I suppose gun kills by poachers aren't exempt? You have the initials right. He's also known as the mad dumper.....and he's a poaching son of a bitch. He's 75 yrs old....and if you believe he took that buck off his 1 acre of land....then I hope Santa's good to you this year.

I've had to fight this piece of white trash for the last 3 seasons....and I'll have to fight him when I go to the new land that's close to me. He'll trespass there and hunt.....'til I get him stopped.

He also isn't above baiting in deer to the field by his house....and shooting them from the upstairs window.....as my father in law has been there when he's done it (AT NIGHT).

So you can look at this two ways..........

Yeah....there was a deer that size in the 2.23sq mi area around my house. Someone got him.

&

Did I have a chance?

I tell you what's on the properties I hunt....and you post things like (for what...to 'diminish one's accomplishments')? Scott.... with the "innocent' act you play.....it's agood thing you don't play cards.

You don't know half of what you think you know (or the PM'er).....and if you did....you'd be madder than hell and calling these guys in, yourself.

What's next!

I can't believe that you guys are still debating this. Geographically speaking there is no level playing field. There are mineral rich areas and then there are the other areas. It takes various minerals to make up what is the fastest growing tissue/bone, so some areas produce better bucks. Age is one of the 3 variables that determine how much horn a deer is gonna have but it is second togenetics and third to nutrition. That being said genetics is one variable that is probably the least understood. There are but a few states that have there "original" genetics. Being a taxidermist, I have learned that here in NC we have transplanted deer from all over. How do I know this? Size differences. Deer just 2 hours from here are built differently than deer in my region, and deer a few hours east are different than both of them. So Jeff is in an area that lacks all 3, so what? Is Jeff happy hunting where he is? Guess so he still hunts there. Good luck Jeff.

Careful, Scott.....talking up the poacher for his "accomplishment"is like slapping the rapist on the back for getting a piece of ass.

Calm down.... It had nothing to do with diminishing ones accomplishments..... As I said... You have done well and should be proud. Someone shot the biggest buck I located last year across the road from me. It went around 203 inches.... Is that a common buck for here? No, but they are around me from time to time.

It wasn't about someone else killing him or you having a chance at him. You have said over and over again there are no bucks like that where you hunt. You were not totallyhonest. That's all.

Not what I was getting at, at all. My last reply has my thoughts.

I don't hunt where he does, Scott (haven't EVER). I don't hunt HOW he "hunts". I'm totally honest about all of that. NOW what are you TRYING to say?

Greg (nctaxi) knows where I hunt. His description is spot-on.
