Exactly Jeff. Thats why I raise my standards. I know if I see a buck in velvet that appears to be a 140 at first glance, I assume hes really onlya 130; thus I raise my standards by 8-10 inches.

Hunt KY the first weekend in Sept every year in hopes of a nice velvet buck. Missed a 140 inch 8 pointer in full velvet2 years ago 15 min after getting in the stand the first night. Happend all to fast. Buddy ended up killing a nice 9 pointer. Look very nice mounted in velvet.
