Okay lets get a debate going. Who is the greatest bow hunter of all time? I've got my money on Fred Bear but there are so many others I'm sure I have not given due credit to. I think Fred because he is so synonimous with bow hunting history. What does everyone think. Oh and I promised everyone deer pics so go to MTElksnipers webpage and check out the three bucks we killed the opening weekend of Montanas Bow season. ALL PUBLIC LAND DEER!!!!!!!

Howard Hill bar none! No one has ever accomplished what the man has in both the bowhunting and the archery world and no one ever will!!!! The story goes, "no one man has ever dominated a sport as Howard Hill"!

I can't imagine that any hunter has accomplished more than Howard Hill. His skill and ability was phenomenal. On the other hand, Fred Bear had done more to promote bowhunting than anyone I can think of. Two great men for sure.

I would have to go with Fred Bear. Like everyone said, he was pretty much the best promoter of archery hunting.
Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)

For me the greatest bow hunter is probably unknown to the world. He/She is the person that has a intimate knowledge and respect for the land and animals He/She pursues. Nothing and I mean nothing was ever handed to he or she. Choosing the easiest way out was not an option. All of his/her fruits come from plain old hard work, countless hours of scouting and practice and common sense. His/her skills and wood-wisdom evolved over many years of experience. Never afraid to fail and always pushing on. Record books and attention are not the motivation, instead a deeper personal reason for hunting encompasses their soul. I believe there are a few people out there that fit this mold. Maybe your reading this right now. I respect and would say you are what I would look for in the greatest bow hunter. I believe Fred Bear was this type of person, but there are others equally as talented and devoted to such a great way of life, just not recognized.
