Rage Shooters

seriously Elknutz, Im not trying to be a smart #ss. If you are not comfortable with expandables then stop shooting them. Some people have great experiences with them such as GMATT and others don't. I simply just like fixed blade, if I were to shoot exp heads, it would be a Rage.

I used them last year and will use them again until I either lose them all or break them, which isn't likely.
I killed two deer with them last year and the one I had to track left a blood trail that had blood 6' up on brush, spray everywhere, and painted the ground. It's nice when you can powerwalk following your blood trail
After I'm out, I'll likely use something else as I have an opportunity to use Innerlocs for free.

If you pay attention to the blades before you shoot them, they SHOULDN'T open. Rages have penetrated fine for me as well. As long as you consider 35yd passthroughs good penetration.
THey are in my quiver again this year. Along with a Slick Trick or two.

I killed two bucks last year, huge hole. I have my arrows set up with the Rage 2 blades, and the Muzzy 3 blade, like them both. I just purchased 2 packs of the Rage 2 blades. My friend had a problem with his Rage opening up in the quiver, I never had that problem. I heard there was some sort of improvment made to them this year, what that is I have no idea

Here is how you get them to open in flight. Put them in you quiver, take them out and don't check the blade, and then shoot.....Now I take them out of the quiver, make sure they are snapped in tight and then kill deer with them. They work great when properly handled, but like everything else in this world if they are mishandled you get bad results. The deer wher I hunt in Texas are not that big bodied but my biggest problem is finding the arrow after it blows though the deer.

Ok so let me get this straight I should give up on all expandables because the "Rage" didn't work.
IMO I think they aren't worth the plastic they are wrapped in, especially, for anything larger then a whitetailed deer. Yes they MAY work or maybe they won't?? Is that a chance you want to gamble on with the biggest animal you have ever had the chance at standing in front of you. I don't want to rely on something that isn't 100% reliable. I buy the best bow, use the best setup, spend time and money scouting to put a good one in the dirt. SO why should I notexpect any lessfrom my broadhead?
As far as my experience.... I had no control of faulty O rings (obviously Customer service and Rage knew about the problems)I can take all the care I want but if the O rings break and I am packed in somewhere, 100 miles from the nearest Rage dealer, how am I to get new O rings?
The point I am trying to make is I take my hunts way too serious to sell out to the masses."hearsay" of how wonderful they are and real world expeirence are two totally diffrent things. I am happy to hear they are working for some people. We all owe it to the critters we persue, if it works 8 out of 10 times then is a wounded buck or bullworth taking that chance? To me it's not.
