In most places a bow is going to be considered a firearm in many situations. I know that if you shoot one in town you will be charged with shooting a firearm in the city limits. And they are considered firearms when being transported in vehicle.
If you are unclear on what the regs are in your area on fox hunting with a bow simply call the DNR and ask them rather than take the chance of doing something illegal. You also might want to check and see if it is legal to shoot them from a stand. Many game animals are not allowed to be shot from a stand, even with a bow. If the regulations are too vague to make sense of call a game warden and ask, then you will know for sure.

My core area holds alot of foxes both gray and red. In PA we need to hold a furbearers license to take foxes during any season and I just never bought one.
Here's a pretty red I played with from my stand one season.
In my plot:

And under my stand after I made kissy kissy noises to.

bails, no need to say sorry, but I've seen foxes steal chickens from pine martins and I know for a fact that common martin and pine martin get caught in lots of places where they usually don't reside......
I can only say as much as good luck to the fox.............and to you as well...........
