Safety Harness Exchange '08 Please Read!!
 

Last year I posted up in a threadthat I had several (4) I believe, extra safety harnesses that I would send free of charge to anyone who emailed or posted up that they were in need of one.

All 4 were spoken for in a matter of minutes.

This tells me that there are a lot of people out there who need them but don't necessarily have the ability to purchase one.
I also know that a lot of you have extra harnesses laying around. If you have purchasedmore than onetree stand in the last 3 years then you are bound to have a few harnesses laying around. Every stand now comes with one.

So here is what this thread is about. If you have any extra harnesses that you don't need then please anounce it in this thread, and if you need a harness please also anounce it in this thread. Use this thread to exchange email addresses or whatever just so we can get the harnesses where they need to be.

I think the shipping for the ones I sent last year averaged around 5-7 bucks.

Every year people die from treestand falls while others have extra safety harnesses just laying around collecting dust. Lets help each other out and help save a life this year.

I offered one last week. The guy that claimed hasn't yet given me an address to mail it to. If I don't hear from him REALLY soon its going to the 2nd guy that asked for it!

I think I have a couple at home, I will look when I get back to the states (Aug 1st)and repost!!! I never thought of offering the ones that come with the stands to people that don't have one.....Good Idea!!!!!!

Im gona need one this year seeing that i had a stand given to me and they harness didntcome with it. I greatly appreciated it if someone could give me one. I hate to ask but i do need one.

This is a great idea slo-pitch. I believe in this idea so much that I dont have any to give awa at the moment, but i will be buying some and giving them away at different times. If possible I think this thread should be moved to the top of any forum. not just bowhunting.

I've given away 2, myself to forum youngsters. Matt/PA (I think) had a thread a couple years ago doing the same.

I'll go a step further......if any of you young hunters get close to your season opener and don't have one....if I can't find you one....I'll buy you one. I'd hope someone would do the same for my son.

Here's an idea, though......if you're in the boat tx (and a fine man for doing so) describes......just make a post REQUESTING one. There's enough guys in here with extra gear lying around to accomodate these situations I would bet....and if not...I'll do "my part".

I have one at home, never been used. It is a HHS vest, bought it for a friend of mine who let me hunt his place, but he wouldn't accept it as a gift, he's weird that way. I am happy to offer it up to anyone who needs one. PM me and we'll get it figured out. It is the one for young adult sized folks (have to look at the package to see the exact size).

If anyone does have an extra I could use it the one I have is old and starting to wear out and not very trustworthy anymore and as I am on a fixed income due to a couple of heartattacks I will accept any help I can get. If you have one just pm me and I will be more then happy to pay any shipping. I would take a large as I weigh 210.

I also 2 brand new harnesses I would be willing to donate to a fellow hunter in need. They are from 2 ladder stands I purchased. So if anyone needs one. PM me and I will get it out to you. They are not fancy harnesses but they will help keep you safe in the treestand. First come first serve.

I've got one for someone. It's a full body harness out of a Gorilla stand. Never used. Let me know if someone needs it.

I have two brand new Lone Wolf harnesses that have never been outof their packaging. If anyone needs one, PM me with shipping info and I'd be happy to send it out.

Let's not suggest the offer to just the younger members. Any of you old stubborn cusses that are too cheap to buy one or have simply been lucky for too long, speak up and try one out this season!! If you're reading this thread then it's not too late for an old dog to learn a new trick!;)

This is a great I dea, I have a full 5 point harness that I just opened to verify the weight rating& size. It is a Large and has a wieght limit of 300lbs. Is someone needs it, send me the mailing info and it is yours.
On a side note as we continue to do this, Pleasse remeber that harnesses do have rating for weight and this is not your body weight, but total weight, meaning you need to add in your boots, clothing and any gear you are stuffing in your pockets, when it doubt, make sure you go on the larger size for weight.

The harnesses I have came in really cheap treestands and I don't think I would trust them!

I've got a full body harness that came with a new Loggy Bayou lock on. It's brand new and unused. PM me if you are interested. I've got it in the truck and I can send it out anytime.

sorry belushi for not giving you a PM but i had a trip out of the states for 12 days for school and im just getting back. i understand if you got rid of it already and i forgot to tell you that if its a big one it might not work becuase im 13 and only weigh 92 pounds. So if anyone has a youth harness laying around i could take it off your hands.

I could really use one. I just bought my first bow this year and plan on going out to where my uncle has several stands setup but I know he doesn't use harnesses. I would go andbuy one but I dont' have a whole lot of extra cash sitting around.If there are anymore available I would certainly appreciate it.
