Educating Deer, Always bad?

On smaller herds after a few times using the tractor and harvestiong a deer they may find something fishy and put 2 and 2 together and think ok tractor means hunter. I don't know i have skitish deer near me so it may work with you.

I have been cutting some serious firewood for the past couple weeks and every time i go down to get a load and come back i see deer, all they do is run just into the woods a little bit then come out after i leave. I would try it for sure if i were you.

I would say its just the time of year.
I work on a farm and have been bushhoggin' quite a bit this past week and I bump the deer out of their buffer zone right next to a bean field (This was PRIME bedding and fawning areas, and here I am shreddin it up, oh well.. bosses orders) and they just get out hope along about 30 yards and pay no attention to me.
Most of these are does, mind you so they have their little ones nearby, but deeer are so much more relaxed during the summer its crazy.
As far as using a tractor to your advantage, I say go for it. As soon as the deer become associated with an obect and learn that no dangerous consequences come of it, they will pay little attention to it until it threatens them, or they see it threaten another deer.
I would definitely give it a try trying to score on a deer, would be a lot of fun.

My cousin has a farm in MI, and he drops his family members off at their hunting spots with a four wheeler and they have great success. When he is on the tractor doing his normal routine they don't seem to mind that either.

Hey you could try it...You could also take some of your clothes and stuff them with newspaper( make a dummy) and sit him on top of the tractor so the deer get used to the human silhouette being there and when u go hunt throw him and the floor.
