a/c/c shooters advice please
G'day guys,
I've been reading for a while nowthe advice given on the pages of thisforum and have really enjoyed myself, so a bigthankyou to all members. On theadvice of a lot of the members of this forumI've decided to give the EastonA/C/C's a go for my newshaft, buthave to get them mail order so my question isto this- TheEaston shaft selector comes up with 3-49 for my 70lb X-force with a 27" shaft and my 100grhead. Naturally, beingnear the end of the 3-49's capabilities, I would have gone for the 3-60.Which makes me wonder if I shouldopt for the 3-71?Can anyone thatshoots a similarpoundage and shaft length and hasexperimented with these shafts put my3-71 thoughtsat ease before I order my new 3-60A/C/C's? Thanks. |
RE: a/c/c shooters advice please
I shoot anywhere from 68-71 lbs and I've used 3-49's for more years than I can recall with flawless experiences.

Thanks rob, what length?
|
RE: a/c/c shooters advice please
Wouldn't the length be determinate upon the draw length?
|
RE: a/c/c shooters advice please
I shoot the 3-60's 28.5 with 65 lbs draw.

RE: a/c/c shooters advice please
I shot ACCs last year (3-49s). I got a bunch on the cheap (missing two arrows out of the box, so they sold them to me for $2 a shaft.... heck of a deal).
I shoot a HCA Iron Mace. Just like your X-Force... it has a pretty aggressive cam. My finished arrow length was/is 29.5". I was shooting a 100gr tip, at 62#s... and I was getting a weak arrow reaction. Granted, my arrows are a fair piece longer than Robs... but my bow is tuned extremely well.... I did a little horse trading and got a pair of 3-60s since then, and I found that they shot much better than the 3-49s did. I shot a few without fletchings (which is pretty revealing) and found that they flew much like my fletched arrows do... the 3-49s had a fairly bad kick. As much as I like them though, they are expensive.... same spot I picked up my 3-49s real cheap had another good deal going not long ago... so now I'm shooting a 340 St Axis with a 125gr head... and my arrows are flying as good as any ever have off that bow. |

SwampCollie, I'd imagine those extra 2.5 inches changed the spine. How does the chart add up for the bow poundage arrow length? I can't seem to find a friggin chart that mentions it anymore.[&:]

RE: a/c/c shooters advice please
I shot 27.5" a/c/c's in the 3-71 variety, last year with NO issues. The extra spine is NOT an issue for short range shots....and I liked the extra weight.
If I were going to shoot the same #-age, this fall....I'd have ordered the 3-71's. I'm lowering my #-age and have ordered the 3-49's. At 70#'s...."I" would shoot 3-71's. Good luck. |
