Obviously,I have not run your bow through a chrono but knowing that the bow in question is one of the fastest on the market in the 345 ibo range,NO WAY can you shoot a 3-49or even a 3-60 .Especially at 29" and 70#.

This simple issue,spine,causes way more headaches and gets people more frustrated when it isn't necessary.

I had made up my mind, 90% anyway, on the 3-60. The 3-71 was taking up the other 10% which I just can't rule out of my mind. After the repliesto this postI may have to reconsider the 3-49 also.I'll seeifI can buy three of each off ebay or somethingso I can come to aneducatedconclusion.Thanks.

Wow TFOX, never seen a program that can run all those variables. I also know over spine is better. Ichecked out the Easton site (3-49)and figured I should get the next stiffest spine to accommodate the bow. Only had a tingle in my head that said to go for the 3-71. Thanks very much for putting in the time to post this information for me.

The program cost less than a 1/2 dozen ACC's.Might be worth the investment.That way you can run your own numbers and know if you are buying the best spined arrow for your setup rather than trusting what works for someone else's setup.

Honest answers:

Max distance? I practiced to 60yds with this arrow setup. I can't say how comfortable you would feel at longer distances. I just can't. I can tell you the spine of the arrow wouldn't have been a determining factor on whether I took a longer shot, or not. But my "effective range" has gotten shorter as I've hunted longer.

I shot both 125gr (muzzy's) and 100gr (rage) out of this setup. In all honesty.....I never had to change one thing when I went from the 125gr to the 100gr....except my sight starting at the 40 yds range. I thought that odd.....but that's the way it was.

I don't think they give enough options for spine/cam combinations. Given that you and Rob most likely shot the same kind of cam I go with his.

That x force like the bowtec is pretty harsh (a speedy speed cam). if you feel uncomfortable with the 3-49 I'd go with the 3-60. I have both and have been shooting both out of a 68# bow. The 3-60 is a touch stiff at 29 1/4" long. Both fly well except the 3-49 tracks a field point better.

Get both shafts, cut one of each and try them out, sell what you don't want.
