I shoot a 70 lb. PSE Firestorm lite ..... 28.5 bare shaft , 100 gr. head ....

I have been shooting A/C/C/'s for about 3 years and I have 2 doz. 3-49's and 2 doz 3-60's.

I have not seen any descernable difference in the accuracy dept shooting at targets, but the 3-60's seem to react a bit better when shooting at game. I have not tried the 3-71's but would be hesitant on going to something in that range.... the 3-49's do well, and the 3-60 are great , so I do not see a need.

X2...I started shooting them this year and they shoot great well worth the money. I never understood why people spent $150 on arrows, but now i understand.

I'm not so sure about suing a 3-71. At 27" the 3-60 should do very well. On the other hand, the 3/49 might fly OK as is, but will give you the option of dropping some bow weight if and when you think it necessary, and still be within a reasonable spine range.

Don't forget, limb bolts are on a bow for a reason and it's not just to hold the bow together. They can be a very unused and very useful tuning tool.

I certainly agree that 2.5" of arrow might as well be 2.5 feet when it comes to changing the spine of an arrow.

The chart is relatively vague (as you no doubt know), if you list your arrow at 30" (which is typically what I suggest for 29.5"... always round up) and go with the #age bracket 62-66 with a 100gr.... the chart/selector will tell you to shoot a 3-60.

You know better than I surely about how binary cams (I'm shooting an HCA Iron Mace... Trinary cams... close to the same difference) react tolerance wise to stiff/weaker spines. I've read posts and opinions and so forth, but you have access to data and tests that the rest of us don't. Its my understanding that the binary system is much more tolerant/flexable/forgiving of a weak spine than say a single/one cam system. I'm not sure why, but is that correct?

3-60's, with no hesitation at all. Yes, the 3-49's will most likely work, but I guarantee you the 3-60's will, and especially since you're on the upper edge of "right".....better to be slightly overspined than under.

The xforce is a fast bow,the charts rarely are accurate for bows that fast.


I assume you draw is around 28" because of the 27" arrow.

My program has you extrememly weak with a 3-49.You are also weak with a 3-60.The 3-71 is perfect with a 100 grain point.

Assuming the ibo is around 345,I would go with the 3-71 if your draw is close to 28".

Thanks to everyone who has replied.
The bow is the original X-force with the6" brace and I have a draw length of 29" and (obviously) the position of the rest allows me the 27"arrow.I'm not concerned at all about adding the extra weight of a stiffer spine arrow, I actually prefer it the extra weight, I'd sacrifice a little speed for aslightly quieter shot anyday(not that shotnoise is a problem at the moment). Also the old CX350 spine arrows Iam nearly out of are 10.2gpi,which is heavier than the A/C/C shafts I'm considering.

GMMAT- What was the maximum distance you would have considered taking a shot at an animal with that set-up? And what was your broadhead weight?

I really wasn't expecting these mixed replies, but please keep them coming as i really will have no way to test this before purchase.

I am looking at buying the X-Force SS with the 26 " ATA ... I know it is suppose to be shooting around 330 FPS. I have shot one that a PSE pro had , and he allowed me to fling a few arrows .... all I can say is wow ... No hand shock, and it was screaming. I was in the target before I saw the arrow. And it was very quiet too. I plan on using my 3-60's for it, to begin with, and i will see how the 3-49's work, but i predict the 3-60's will be the charm.
