Ok as some of you know I'm in the market for a new bow. I've been looking at the Drenalin LD, Switchback LD, and the Bowtech Commander. I shot the Drenalin LD today. It shot great. I'm not used to the longer ATA bows like that though. A buddy of mine made a call and found, what we think, is a great deal. He found a brand new 07 Bowtech Commander for $500. He said he would hold it until I could get there to shoot it. Do ya'll think that's a good deal? How does this bow perform? Thanks for the input fellas (or ladies!)!
NC; I was in the same boat as you last year and I shot several bows too.I went an shot the commander and I love mine, but I wanted a longer ata and this bow is sweet,it shoots great and is very quiet with little shock at the shot,it is also very steady whem shootinf at longer distances. This is just my opinion, but a 07 commander for 500.00 would be a great deal, and I think you will love it.My bow performs very well and I was suprised of how fsat it was shootinf,I was shooting 490grns total weight at 260fps and it would stackem.

What DL where you shooting it at? 260 seems a bit slow for it. I would think I would get much higher since I'm going to be shooting in the 31" range.

I'm hoping one of the 976 Bowtech corporate advisers is gonna chime in on this thread!:D
Right!!!! Hey I was gonna tell you that when I shot the bow with the 30 1/2" modules it was shooting about 310fps with 380gr shafts @ 65lbs....

I'm shooting a 29" draw lenght set on 64lbs draw weight with a 490grn arrow,if your dl is 31 then you should be getting quite a bit more speed, but this is not a speed bow per sa,it is a shooters bow if your looking for pure speed you may want to consider another bow,but for 500.00 dollars you need to kiss your frien,I paid 750.00 for mine before taxes.

You will not find a better deal than $500 for a brand new Commander. If you pass it up you will be kicking yourself. A few months ago $500 was a good deal for a used one, with the new one you get the warranty. Buy it, put a MeanV2 noise suppressor on it and you will have a very sweet shooting, very quiet bow.

I'm not terribly worried about it being a speed bow. I was just saying that 260 sounded slow. For $500 I can get used to it!!!

That's one of the first purchases I plan on making. I'll be able to afford it since I won't be spending $750. Plus it's brand spanking new...it's an 07 instead of an '08 but that's starting to split hairs!

I could crank it up to 70lbs and shoot a lighter arrow and get close to 300fps,but man I do love my heavy arrows. You never no I might want to go elephant hunting! lol.
