Whats crazy is if 10 guys shoot 90" or better bucks, you stand a great chance at winning the whole thing. Really makesyou realize that location does play a huge part. 90" in areas I hunt are very abundant. 90" where Jeff hunts for example probably arent so abundant.
I know and those standards are what kept us from winning last year. 2 of our guys who didn't score passed up 100-125" bucks throughout the season when basically ANY basket racked buck would have won the contest for us..........so it can go both ways I guess.
The good location high standard guys are great when they score but maybe it's better to have 10 consistent 80-100" first good 2.5yr old or best buck for their area types who will put SOMETHING on the ground?

I guess probably an unbeatable team would be one made up of 10 guys who hunt the best spots in the target rich midwest who take the first 100+" buck that walks by?

1000-1200pts would be tough to beat huh?

Because I am not location bias like some I will take ten guys from anywhere that score that many points.

The nerve of those selfish bastages! What were they thinking!!?? Think of all the awards, prizes and bragging rights they threw away just for some silly, self imposedpersonal standards.

Once you join the prestigeous HNI bowhunting contest, it's not about you anymore, it's about the team!! [:-]

Yes, and that means you have to drop your personal standards and just get some points on the board.

And I condemned them for it where?.............

Just stating a fact as to whymy particular teamdidn't win the contest and what kind of team might be best suited to win in general........ not why I'm pissed off atmy guys for not lowering their standards in order to win it.

The reading comprehension level on HNI is quite astounding at times.

Come on guys. I thought this was going to be a fun thing to get involved with. You know, all the trash talk, and that kind of fun stuff. The contest hasn't even started and there's bickering. Let's play nice.

Matt posted zippo about dream team Just about ten guys taking bucks 100-125, I'd take them from anywhere

Jeff get over your location complex, geezish

Just so you know my dream team has zippo to do with, they have taken a deer every year, or how big of one they took
It is guys I have met and hunted with on this site, guys I would have fun with if we scored 0 poits or a million.

Without being in the contest I would not have met half the guys I have and gotton to know them. The true winners of the HNI contest is not the team with the most points, it's the members who got invloved with their teams and teammates and get to know them.

Guys like me in MI who hunt trophy whitetails get told we do not understand the traditions of hunting, they are correct I have no idea what the "Standard" tradition is for hunting.

All I know is how to talk whitetails, make friends and have a ton of fun[8D]

Easy there buddy, I never said you condemned anyone for what they did. This was an attempt at humor and sarcasm. You may want to re-evaluate your own reading comprehension because I'm sure that's where the problem lies.
