Look at the guy's left hand compared to his right hand in the second photo. Really looks like the photo was doctored.

If i remember correctly i thought that deer was killed on some kind of preserve. Not positive though
Nope.

Though typically a trustworthy site.....I tend to believe the recent NAW article in this matter.

It's not claiming to be the world's heaviest (it would miss by almost ONE HUNDRED POUNDS). And......similar deer (recorded 380lbs) have been killed near there.

Jeff, perhaps it is a different deer that NAW is publishing. That snopes reference has been around for a few years and circulated the net numerous times. I seriously doubt a publication such as NAW would have missed that as much as it has been around.

Does anyone have the NAW article so that we can see what they are saying?

I think that the guys head that is in the picture could weigh in around 412 lbs. [&:]

What's your question?

Is the deer from the Snopes article the same deer as in NAW?

I totally agree. NAW would not publish a story about a "fake" deer, and you can never trust what you read on the internet. Plus what the hell would snopes know about deer anyways.
