Not really happy what this tells me about the 500 private acres I have in WV. Really makes me want to reconsider making the 8 hour drive out several times this year to hunt.

21-40 from my county...which is predominantly gun hunters. I'm willing to bet over 50 deer are gunshot each year that are between 125 and 160...making them excluded.

If I mentioned I saw a 150 inch P&Y to hunters around here, they wouldn't know what I'm talking about. When theres a book buck killed here, it has less of a chance to get entered. So i do think the numbers on that map for my area is inconsistant with whats actually killed. Of course the other states do have better potential than us, I'm in no way arguing that.

This map tells me squat! I hunt in Crawford County IL. and it says there has only been 21-50 P&Y deer killed in that time span. LMAO! My cousin is a big taxidermist in that county and he probably gets over 75 P&Y deer a year. Tells me that we are trying to keep our little secret and not entering them. I know I haven't entered the three I been blessed enough to harvest.

Im in Edgar Co., IL (The real, real deep red in central, IL right on the curve on the IL/IN border). It show's our number being high, but Im with everyone else: I saw countless bucks last season that got killed and were never entered.

Most people just don't do it...atleast from what I know of around here we don't...

Yep. I have seen two that I know would have been P&Y in the back of a truck from Hanover, all they were worried about was hamburger and sawing the skull off. About 10% even can spell P&Y that I know hunt in Hanover and Louisa, so that tells me something!

That map tells me one thing...... that EVERYONE should head to WISCONSIN to bowhunt! Why take the chance to hunt here in IL when all the bucks arte clearly hiding in WI.
