RE: Your one piece of Golden hunting advice.
1.Don't buy into the hype, but buy quality. It may not be the latest and greatest but it will get the job done.
2. Patience.........life in the woods is a lot slower than life in the cities. |

RE: Your one piece of Golden hunting advice.
scout more, hunt less for more success
when this "motto" says to hunt less for more success its not meaning that you physically dont sit out in a stand less, but while u r out hunting, actually think of it as a scouting session, where u learn more about the deer and then strike when the time is right |
RE: Your one piece of Golden hunting advice.
I always thought I had ADD or something in those lines. I hated staying in one place for long if I didnt see or hear anything.
Be persisitant. If you are going to dedicate yourself to a stand, stay there for the duration of the day. Bring some munchies and water, but stay there until you can say that you gave it your all in that place. Too many times I have left early, only to jump a deer close to, or heading in the direction of where I was. Go as high as you can in your stand. The wind will be less of a factor, as well as the deer are less motivated to be looking up. When you do make a kill, thank God for giving you the opportunity!! |
RE: Your one piece of Golden hunting advice.
Hunt somewhere where you feel CONFIDENT a big buck could, or will be there. You will be more focused, and ready when the opportunity presents itself, and you will hunt better and longer.

Equipment: Spend the extra money for that top shelf bow and accessories! If you don't "got it like that", find a way to make it happen (legally ofcourse ;)). IMO, they're worth every penny and have changed my world.
Hunting: "Hard woods" got their name because they'reHARD to hunt. (nothing wrong with that, I spend alot of my time in SE OH) Farms/crops= big deer and easier hunting Suburban/Township areas -Bowhunters equivalent to the "golden ticket". Many of these areas are full of ultra-snobby, rich folks who do not hunt, or allow hunting on their property. Properties are often small (5-10 acres), but if you're lucky enough to land one, you're golden! It's only a matter of time. |
RE: Your one piece of Golden hunting advice.
When in doubt, back out.
