Usually one for me and the wife, if I get a second one it usually gets used by my parents and brother. My family usually bucthers a steer or two, so that supplements the venison.

I like to have 2-3 in the freezer every year and then I make it a mission to make sure it's all cleaned out by hunting season.

I am the only one who eats it and I think I need to ease up on the processed stuff a bit (bologna, sausage,jerky etc) and get back to good ol' grilling and roasting.

I've been on a roll of marinading and grilling up the rest of the doe I shot in IL last year and holy crap is it good.[:-]

I've eaten 4 steaks and a whole backstrap in the last few days with tenderloins thawing and another 2 pack of steaks.Those IL does are gonna be in trouble this year.;)

And no way is anyone going to get me to say that Rob's bologna tastes good. [:o]

2-3 per year for my immediate family, that does not include my mother and father, who eat 1-2 more.

But the real question is, who is going to start a thread on favorite venison recipies? Sausages, ground meat, steaks, whatever.

i my self could eat prolly 3-4 a year... im a cheapo an when i got deer burger in the freezer there will be no burger bought at the market... but seein how i only got one deer last year i had it gone in a month...lol....

well i plan to eat as many as i can kill which in Indiana could be 300 plus
i can get 2 for my deer license then 2 bonus doe tags per my county's limit.
so i hope i get four
then if i can get my dad or brother to hunt with me another 4

I want to be eating deer as my primary source of meat in the next few years i hate the store bought meat

My mom and little sister hate the taste. I'm the only one who really likes it butmy dad will eat it too. we got a few lb's last year from my uncle.

There are only two of us so I voted 1-2 deer/year. We also eat a lot of chicken since we raise/butcher our own meat chickens. Plus with a core group of 50 laying hens of varying ages, we butcher the older ones every year to make room for younger hens. Add to that a couple of wild turkeys and some wild rabbit and dove thrown in for good measure that means just a little supplemental pork and beef from the store once or twice a month.
