Over the years, the number of points of a decent buck that has been spotted by someone, has grown to be 14 points.

"Oh Greg, you should have seen the buck I saw from my stand tonight!"

How big?

"A 14 pointer!."

How wide?

"At least 24 to 26 inches wide!."

This guy shot one and described it to me like that above. The next morning he went out and recovered it and never called. When I got home I called him and found out he got it, so I went over to see it. When he opened the garage door, he sheepishly said, "It's not as big as I thought".

There lay a 2 1/2 year old 9 pointer with a 15 inch spread and scored about 115 gross.

So much for the B&C 14 pointer!

Right on Greg!! Its just like bear hunting, everyone says there bear weighs 300+. 95% of the time there full of it!

We always give myuncle a hard time because he once told us he saw a "16 pointer" run across the horse pasture(from 200 yards away and no binos).
