Scent-Lok Question

Scent-Lok Question
I have a question for everyone uses Scent-Lok gear.
Do you spray down with scent eliminator/cover scents?
I have a scent-lok jacket and last year was afraid to spray down because I had read/heard somewhere that spraying with an eliminator or cover scent clogs up the odor eating molecules and makes the intended use of your jacket useless.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks in advance.

RE: Scent-Lok Question
You can spray the outside w/ a scent killer product, but don't use cover scents, especially when storing. The carbon in the suit does not differentiate between scents it adsorbs everything.
BTW, carbon based clothing is a hot topic on this site with many members skeptical and some downright indignant about it's value. I use scent-lok but I do realize that it doesn't eliminate odor but is just another tool at reducing odor. Most of the objections are based on the fact that you cannot re-activate carbon in a clothesdryer. The word re-activate was a poor choice, I do however believe that placing the garment in a dryer on high for 30 min. does drive off much of the adsorbed odor rendering the garment once again useful at reducing your odor. You still have to play the wind.

RE: Scent-Lok Question
Alright, thanks for the info.
I have really grown to like Hunter's Specialties fresh earth, eliminator and have tremendous success with it. Would it be wise to just invest in regular eliminator, and leave the fresh earth scent out?
Also- how often does everyone re-activate their suits?

RE: Scent-Lok Question
If you plan to use any carbon clothing it's best to leave any scented cover sprays out. Just use regular scent eliminator. Just follow your manufacturers instructions as far as washing and recharging your garments.
