I scout year round.I don't beat the bush to much only when I'm shed hunting. I use trail camera's and my atv trails. The trails tell me where they are crossing and what size deer are where. The deer in my area change patterns about 4 times a year so staying on top of it helps.

I agree with what many others have said. I like to prep my stands early (by the end of July at the latest). I won't go back until our Annual Dove hunt the first week in Sept. Even then we only go in the dove field (very small dove field in the top left of the map).
Two weeks ago, I preped three new trees for my climber on one tract of our lease. Tomorrow morning, I plan to hunt coyotes in the early morning, then prep four spots on our second tract. Below is a map of our property. Red indicates stand placement. Can't wait!
