The at peace part for me is the tranquil part.The I have given it my all and what ever happens,happens part.I can't explain it but the best things in life have happened for me when I wasn't concerned about the out come.Between that and the enjoying every aspect of the hunt and the outdoors.
I think part of what Fran was alluding to is that it is our time,only answering to ourselves,only focused on applying our abilities,skills and knowledge to that thing we love.

The only time the planets every seem to align for me is when I am hunting in the midwest. I swear there are places in the midwest that are whitetail heaven. I have had some much success there (on my own, no guided hunts etc.) in such a limited amount of time that I can't even imagine how many bangers I would have on my wall if I lived there my whole life. Dont' get me wrond I have killed some good deer there and some good deer here but coming from the tough conditions and terrain here and going up there it just seems so much easier to pattern and see not only deer but really good deer. My hunts here that almost never start out with that warm and fuzzy feeling, it just kind of happens.
