I always carry a bludgeon or el cheapo broadhead with me while deer hunting. I've shot a couple squirrels and rabbits, two groundhogs and fox and a bobcat while deer hunting.
I use arrows I find in the $2 bucket at bass pro or other sporting good stores.... people take them out to look at them and don't put them back in the box and some poor sap gets 11 instead of 12. Sometimes just one will be missing and they'll throw the other 11 in the $2 each bucket... so long as they are spined right they are usually close enough to be effective... and with a squirrel or a rabbit you really cannot wound it.... if you hit it anyplace where there is bone its in big trouble. And of course if you miss then who cares....

Wal-Mart wolverine arrows are great for this also. I slide a spent 30-30 casing over the end and secure it with a wrap of electrical tape. If I lose it I'm out $2.50. I saw Flu-Flu's at the archery shop last week and he wanted $8 apiece. I used to have fun as a kid flinging these at passing crows, I never hit one but It was a lot of fun anyway. There was a stone quarry behind my house so we didn't lose any arrows and the crows flew over at the same time every afternoon.

A rabbit doesent stand a chance if it comes out on me, I keep a couple slick-tricks in my quiver for that. The reason I use slick-tricks is because if a deer or hog happens to show up @ the same time, Im still good and dont have to switch arrows.

on tv once i think it was on versus there were 2 guys hunting geese with muzzleloader shotgun and a longbow. i swear the guy with the long bow must have lost 50 arrows before getting a goose
