Early-In: You suffer from a bad case of "Post-Envy."

Deep down, you wish you were the King. You wonder why you're not. You wish you were a 2-time bowhunting world champion. You wish you were a Dark Horse. You read about TeamXX, but you never could break through the mystique. You'vetasted small-timevictory, but not on bowhunting's biggest stage. You see the views on his majesty's threads skyrocket, and it eats away at your soul. You wish people sent you cool PM's. It's starting to affect you at home. . . at work . . . etc...

Take a deep breath.

It's okay buddy. There can only be one Undisputed King. He is awesome. Get over it.
Hey King, you're a legend in your own mind. I will say this in all sincerity. You are a funny guy, there is no doubt.:D Reguardless of your many inadequacies as a hunter.:D:D:D:D

Duke, I think you're right, bud. We always start seeing a little more of the usual suspects once the leaves start to turn. This year should be no different, IMHO.

Early-In: When you stoppaying people to put you on bigdeer in Canada, and start shootingthe free ones on your own, back here in sweet home Pennsylvania- maybe then I'll start caring about your opinion. [:-]

The King is a legend in the minds of millions. Maybe zillions. He is probably the next President of the United States.

I thought I was done playing, but I'll give you a little more of the attention the you seem to starve for. King, you wouldbe a successful hunter just killing the Pa deer that I let walk. As far as Alberta goes, maybe someday you'll be fortunate enough to travel thereto hunt a strain of whitetail that few peopleare fortunate enough to persue.Give this some thought, as I'm all done playing for today, I promise.;)

I can't cast a "single" vote in your poll, Quiksilver.Of the available responses, two and one half seem to fit. The first is option one. Yes, you are correct. The quality of the average post IS declining. I've noticed that in the short year and a half that I've been a member. Secondly, you really are crazy. Thirdly, the first portion of option 3 has seemedquite appropriateon multiple occasions. I don't have any evidence to support the formulation of an opinion on the remainder of option 3, so I vote 1, 2 and 3a.

I have got to agree. It does get old seeing all of the exact same "what equiptment should i use" threads. Can't these guys (or gal's) just use the darn search option? Im surethat very topic has been discussed many, many times. Half of the time they pick the opposite of what the entire internet hunting community recommends anyways. It just dosen't make any sense.

When i started reading these, about four years ago, i learned so much so fast that i felt like the man in just a few short hours. These boards were jam packed with sweet little tid bits on how to kill the local monster. Im not even sure the last time that i have read something that really get my wheels turning like they used to. Beats me though, i guess its just who you ask...

I agree that the quality of posts have been steadily declining.I can't really say over what time frame though,I would guess over several months. There is a lot less discussion about hunting techniques and more and more about fluff or stuff that is kind of stupid.Every one has a right to their opinion and I am expressing mine.
I used to get on this site and spend significantly more time on it than I do now. There were a lot more posts that were deeper relating to the practical application of hunting techniques and responding to experiences that people were having while out there pursuing game.
There is a noticeable absence of some of the hunters who always had a lot to offer with their thought provoking posts.Certainly there still are some but not nearly as many.
I definitely see Quick's point on this.I will take some initiative and try to create some post's that are thought provoking or interesting,at least to me and hopefully to others.

RE: Prejudice - Version 2.0

I agree 100% Scot.

It's not just the repetition, but the lack of quality, effort, thought and information. Some of this stuff reads like it's coming off the pen of a second grader. It doesn't have to be that way. For a long time, it wasn't that way, IMHO.

Seriously, it's not that hard to spend a few minutes and look up a few things, check your sources, and verify everything that you're saying, before you say it. Be a little original. Be witty. Be sarcastic. That's what makes for good reading.

I like to think of us as stewards of the environment, and that extends far beyond deer hunting. We are supposedly the face of the outdoor community, but I don't think we're necessarily holding up our end of the bargain. In the big picture, I think a lot of us need to start bringing a little bit more to the table, that's all - and that statement, again, is not relegated strictly to deer hunting. It goes far beyond that.

There's a lot more to being a well-rounded outdoorsman than scrapes and funnels. I think we all need to put on the camo pants and walk down that road.

Does anyone out there use Rage mechanical broadheads ? If I shoot a deer in the azz with a rage will it die faster than a deer I shot thru the heart with a dull field point?
What if i sharpen the field point, will that help.

RE: Prejudice - Version 2.0

While I do agree with The King's assessment of the "average" hunter's spit-chewing, loud-truck-driving, cutoff-tshirt-wearing stereotype I really don't think the quality of posts are declining. It's the off season and this happens every year. It's been 6 months since any of us were in the woods chasing deer around and we've run out of things to discuss. How many times can we cover the same topics and maintain this imaginary "high standard of quality"? And don't tell me that another thread about hunting funnels and travel routes between doe bedding areas during the rut is some sort of revolutionary new hunting tactic that nobody has ever thought of before.

And let's be honest with ourselves - not everyone here is some great deer hunter that's going to teach us things we didn't already know and open our eyes to a new world of deer hunting. There may be a few good pointers, tips, or stories that help us along our journey butdeep down inside most of us know what we need to do in order to kill the quality of animal we want.It just boils down to your dedication and willingness to do the right things in order to achieve those goals.

I take any message board for what it is - entertainment, a place to meet some new people, pick up some tips along the way, and share our stories. Nothing more, and sometimes nothing less.

To be somewhat honest that is part of the reason I dont post as much here anymore... Aside from life getting insanely busy for me, I just found that after two years of posting/reading, the threads became awfully repetitive and I lost interest.

I have found some redemption in the political forum however, there's always a good discussion there...

However, I do feel that my 6 month hiatus from the bowhunting forum has run its course and I’m trying to get back on here and post… Not that my posts alone will add to the intellect of the whole forum, but I like to think I contribute slighty[8D]…

And for the record, I cant wait till we pick teams for the contest…

When is that gonna happen, and how do I get on a team???:D:D
