Was looking at the calender and planning my hunting vacation days today at work... yes I had just a little spare time

Well, this would be the 8th year in a row for me to hunt opening day of archery in MD, but its on a Monday this year!!!

My dilemma is if I should use a vacation day for it?!?! I'm really tempted to save it for better hunting in Oct/Nov, and due to my work schedule I'm off the friday & Sat after opening day, so I would just have to wait 4 more days...

..But then thats 4 more days! and a ongoing tradition!

What to do???

Opening day is over-rated.

how about an afternoon hunt on opening day? will that work in your schedule

Opening day is big time tradition where I come from, so if you have that tradition in your blood and want to keep it going I say take the day off work and spend it in the woods! Hunting opening day is a no brainer in my book, its the days that follow that I will be letting pass and save for later in the season if its to warm! If that happens I be chasing the Turkeys for a few weeks before hunting the whitetails daily!

I agree. If the temps are high, here, on opening day (likely)......I'll be doing something other than sitting in a tree.

Do you have one patterned? If so a great time to get after it.
