Opening day of bow season is not a big deal to me. Usually you have to deal with hordes of guys that will bowhunt the first two weeks and give up, guys putting on "bow drives", and other nonsense. I wouldn't burn a day for it unless you've got a big guy patterned and want to get after him.

Gun season on the other hand, now that is an opening day tradition.

Monday opener.....sounds nice if you can do it.....way more guys "opener" will be that following saturday, or maybe friday evening....so yes thats kinda like 5 days by yourself....you could take off only thurs/fri and that may be better but still more guys probably doing that than mon/tues....maybe just take off part of that first week?

MT has sunday openers.....

I gotta go with Walt on this one, or even save the day off for later in the season. IL opens on Wed, but I'm not gonna go out till Fri (unless of course I get a chance in my neighbors yard)
