For those of you who shoot BH's that don't fly like practice tips, I'm just curious when you start re-tuning for your hunting setup in reference to opening day.

I head out for SD August 19th, so I am in the process of repicking up the shooting routine, and within the next month will switch over to the BHs. I hope to work out the kinks and get them to fly together this year, but who knows.[&:]

I plan on shooting nearly every day until I leave for my trip. I still am undecided on which BHs I will be shooting. Most likely the Rages unless I can get the Strikers shooting the same as the other tips. We shall see.

I shoot broadheads exclusively. I don't hunt with field points so I don't shoot them.

Do you shoot often? If so, which target?

BHs eat any target I have tried thus far. Im actually currently looking for a new BH target...

I start shooting in August, and shoot pretty much every day through archery season. Probably 10-20 shots per session. I use the Black Hole target, and buy a new one each season.
I push the head through the target and unscrewit instead of pulling it out.

I shoot NAP Crossfire's which don't need any tuning from my experience. The 3 blade heads rotate and they fly like my field tips.

I'll tune until I get the broadheads of my choice hitting the same POI as my field points. I do that almost right away. Then I mix in a broadhead with my fieldpoints to ensure they're both on the same page. I shoot that way with except perhaps the late winter months and I start the process before turkey season.
