AimPoint or Pollington Pro Red Dot sight ??
#1
OK- I'm in the market for a Red Dot "type" of archery sight- it doesn't have to be Red Dot name brand, rather that type of laser sight(HHA, PollingtonPro, AimPoint,Inventive Tech or Starlight for example). To any of you who have used this type of sight, any recommendations on specific brands & models? Please be specific:
- advantages
- disadvantages
- price range
- Left-handed models (I'm a lefty)
- Difficulty/ease in initial set up
- battery life
- durability
- accuracy
I want to hear it all. I'm getting a new Mathews SBXT and I want to put a Red Dot type sight on it. Looking for any/all comments from folks who have actually used one or helped someone install or set one up on a compound hunting bow. I *think* I've narrowed it down to either the Pollington Pro or the AimPoint brands, but I'd like to throw it out there and hear what you all have to say.
Thanks,

Get a left handed mount, and then look at this Aim Point:

Tony,
Thanks for the link & your recommendation. I've been looking at the AimPoint Micro H-1 as well as the CompC3. Do you use/own the Micro H-1
or know someone who does? I'm curious as to the ease of set up- I know the AimPoint sights are tougher than a pitbull, so durability isn't an issue.
I plan to set it up & sight it in for 22 yards and then adjust on the fly once I'm on stand given a specific target yardage. I'll be fairly flat from 10-22 yards, then simply aim a little higher the further the target is beyond 22 yards. I really don't like screwing around with windage/elevation settings in bowhunting situations with animals in close proximity.
Lastly, do you know the approximate cost for the Micro H-1site? I can't seem to find it on the AimPoint website. The CompC3 goes for about $310 with the mount/rings (I *think*).
Thanks,
Rob
