RE: Deer Camp. Who still does it?
Our cabin is rather new, it was builtthe summer of2006, but has been receiving additions continually since then. The structure itself is one of those Amish built sheds we had built off-site and delivered to our property by truckwhere it was placed ontop of a runners that were seated in the ground. It is 12x20 and came with exposed studs. We did have them add a layer of insulation to the floor as it was being built.
That summer we built a porch on one side of it, insulated, painted, and basically made the cabin livable. It is powered by either a generator or by a 12v battery (it is dual wired). We bring our own waterand the facilities are located by whichever tree you choose. It is heated by a woodstove. We have since added a front porch and back deck, along with a wood storage crib that is in the process of being built. We intend to put a roof over the front porch eventually and the back deck is going to be a sealed in shed by the end of summer. Pics: |
