This is the camp we used to rent ('70s/'80s)from the owners who live up the road from it. It was called "Cobblestone Camp". It was made from the rocks (cobblestones) that came from the creek behind the camp.
I haven't been back up there in a lot of years, but the memories will NEVER fade. I'll never forget how I would look forward to hunting up there!! We wouldsee bear, turkey, grouse, and a ton of deer. The cabin is still there. It's in Bradford Co, not far from Towanda,Pa. State Game Lands #36. Kellogg Mtn/Stone Mtn were right there, near the little town of Powell. How I miss that little cabin.:)
Sorry about the pic quality, it's froma scan.

Jeff - That's only about 15 miles from my camp. I know that areareally well. I drive through Powell on 414 when going to my camp. It's beautiful there indeed, that's really the same valley that my camp overlooks, Powell is just on the other end of it. ;)
Small world Matt. I knew your place wasn't too far from Cobblestone Camp. I once climbed to the top of Stone Mountain and had a view of the cabin that I will never forget! It looked like a little doll house out of a story book. I'll go to my grave with that vision, literally!;):DBeautiful country up there. The deer numbers aren't what they were in those "good old days" though.[&o]You know, when it used to snow for every opening day?:)

Dan - how many buildings do you have up there?

Hmmmm......I have 8 rental cabins, 1 cabin for my family (not in the picture, built in 2006), mine and Jill's house (also not in the picture, built last year), an office, pole shed, small storage building, small workshop, plus 3 outhouses and a showerhouse that don't get used much anymore. Oh yeah, there's also a fish cleaning house.

My camp consists of a tent in the middle of the woods bear hunting or elk hunting. I deer hunt around my home so no camp there. I'll have to take some pics this fall of the place we always put up our tents bear hunting. Its really a neat place being we have a small creek below the camp where we bath and stay somewhat clean. Its my favorite place to be in Minnesota, I can't wait till baiting opens in the middle of August.

Before that, it was a mishmash of rough-cut lumber, tarpaper, celotex, and scrap plywood. We had sheet metal covering the bottom 1/3 to keep the porcupines from eating a hole in it. The area where we're at is loaded with porcupines.
I hear ya on the pocupine front brother.;)
