How often do you eat venison?

RE: How often do you eat venison?
I eat venison usually around 3 or 4 days a week. We don't have a whole lot of beef. Venison is our main red meat. For the burgers I'll mix in a little ground turkey and a shot of beer to help it bind. Plus it's an excuse to open another beer.

We eat it 5 out of 7 dinners a week, we use a lot of hamburger. I usually do two deer in hamburger (ground) every year and then after that I will do the famous sausage and of course all the steaks that I can get. It is our beef at my house!!!!! However, I am in Mexico working and can't bring it with me and you guys are making me miss home with all this talk (and pic's) of some good food. I guess it is a good thing I only have 7 more days here in Mexico....

My son is 15 and I bet we haven't had "hamburger meat" in a home prepared meal more than 5 times in his lifetime that wasn't deer meat. The same with roasts.
As far as backstrap and deer steaks......I am in the cattle business so I still prefer a good ole rib eye on most ocassions. Now as far as an elk steak.....its about a toss up compared to beef.
