Killing my first deer with my recurve. I'll be hunting a new property and there are some funnels that just scream for a natural ground blind a few yards away from the trail.

My wife getting well-she has been very Ill for 8 months & finally on the road to recovery. Taking my Bowhunting Son & Daughter on a "special" hunt (Dad pays).
Since I have done in 52 years of Bowhunting what many of you are yet to experience i just look forward to any Bowhunt & especially those I get to share with family & close friends-that makes ALL hunts much better.
Put your family 1st & then SAVE, SAVE, SAVE for those hunts you want.
I have done many Elk, Mule Deer, Black Bears, Caribou & others. I have been fortunate to be able to pay for some of my kids to experience a few of them also.
Good Luck to all & I hope you get what you are going for this year.....

The thing I look forward to the most is my wife and daughter getting a deer, it would be my wife's first and my daughters second.....After that I have to say putting the new commander to use, however it will be hard not to take the ol' maverick into the woods, that thing has got some experience but I will give the commander a thourough workout this year!!!! Well, what I was looking forward to in 2008 has already happened. I was looking to get my son out on his first turkey in this spring. I was able to get him out 4 times and we came close to getting a shot on a few occassions. He proablably would have a shot at one, but unfortunately, duty called and he came out of the blind unexpectedly. I was 10 yards behind him calling and with my jaw flapped open.
Oh well, kids.... Part of the learning process I guess. I would have gotten out a few more times, but unfortunately, I came down with one of my bi-annual sinus infections which made me miss a whole weekend. [:@]He won't be able to hunt big-game till 2009, so that's what I'm looking forward to next year.
