The reason im against rages
#21
I've never shot the Rage. But it's very difficult to believe a mech with a 2"cutting diameter is an appropriate head for a 50lb setup. Sure, there's footage of female celebrity hunters whacking deer with the Rage. Good for them. But there still won't be a Rage on the end of my arrow. Sorry.
EDIT: Just read the head in question is the three blade model. Still a no go, however.

Now that we got that settled....

The recall was last year with heads that were shipped in March of 07'. Go to their website and it will explain everything!

50lbs is PLENTY enough to use a Rage. The Rage head would deploy if you pushed it through hot butter.
Like I have said before..Rages heads open so quickly, do so much damage and are so mean that sometimes when I look at them, they pop open just to remind me thattheirBAD A$$..
I think the issue with mechanicals and low poundage is penetration beyond skin. I could see circumstances that may result in a non pass through when using a Rage on a lower poundage bow.
if you feel that a cut on contact head makes you feel more confident, then use what you like and no one should judge.

We took the 3 blade Rages to Africa last year and had no problem with penetration on Wildebeest, Warthog, Lion or any other plains animals...All poundage was between 60-68lb.
