My arrowed my first buck, during my 2nd year of bowhunting. It was the 1st time for me to set in the stand. I remember accidently getting there an hour early, in the morning, so it took about 2 hours before the sun came up. During that time though, I had a deer walk under my stand. Then once the sun came up, the deer (very confident the same one) walked back under my stand and I made a 15 yard shot. Adouble-main beamed9X5.

9 point , 6 on one side and 3 on the other. Shot it with a old golden eagle bow.

1994 or 1995, I was either 14 or 15, hunting above the dump behind my old house with the kid down the street. I had a doe come trotting past, at around 20 yards, he followed. He wouldn't stop, so I took the moving shot, quartering hard away. The arrow hit just forward of the steaks, and angled up into the lower chest cavity. The entire length of the shaft stayed inside the deer, with the broadhead lodged in the inside of the low ribs.

I knew it was a bad hit, so I told my friend that I was going to go walk around for a while - and try to move some deer for him.

He got bored after a couple hoursof not seeing anything - and got tired of waiting for me...So,geniusdecided to head over to my stand and trail my deer - and found it laying half-dead in the stream by the dump. He cut its throat and came to get me. He acted like I owed him a life-debt, as if he did me some kind of great favor... Meanwhile, I was totally furious that I didn't get to find my first buck.

Here's a digital picture of a 35mm photo that I have in my photo album.

Spike buck in 1974 (?) I think. Back then, where I grew up, the season was a week long, bucks only, and you were lucky to see a deer.

Half rack 6 pointer back in 1988 I think. Right side of his rack had been shot off, too bad because he would have been a dandy with both sides. Shot him with an old Mossberg 500 and slugs at about 80 yards, he was running a doe all morning in front of me and I made him pay the price when he finally stopped. Side not, I was home visiting last weekend and took a drive by where I killed this deer, it is now a sub division.

Here is my first, a 4X3 Ohio Whitetail... Shot him my first day in the deer woods. Jacket was from Kmart on clearance and the pants were from the thrift shop. I was wearing a pair of old work boots. I saved for a year to buy that gun. I was proud. [/align]

First ever was a button buck in 1997 with one 20 gauge shotgun slug to the heart. First bow deer was in 00 - a doe in youth season at 18 yards that fell after trotting out to about 40. First deer seen bowhunting - not to mention first ever drawing on an animal and first ever shot - it ruined me for about 2 years as I thought bowhunting was a peice of cake and I got lazy. It only took about 345,328 screw-ups in the next couple seasons for me to know better and really start having fun.

My third year of hunting with and I walked up on a buck that I scared up over the hill. I slowly snuck up to the top with my dad and there he was about 75 yards away standing there looking around. I put the cross hairs on his should and squeezed the trigger and dropped him on the spot.

He turned out to be a 4 point. 3 on one side, and a long spike that came down along his face on the other side.

I've got to scan some pictures in of that buck.

Second day of IL gun season in probably '95-96. I was sitting in a homemade wooden ladder stand(Like it was done back then) he cut across a cattle pasture and inside the timber where I was waiting. 20g Moss 500 with winchester rifled slugs. 1 shot. Very large bodied deer that had both sides busted off 1-2" from the skull. Didn't matter that much though to a 12 yr. old killing his first deer. Not that exciting of a story and I don't have pics either.
