RE: new G5 tekan boadheads?????
I've used the old version Tekan II's in the past and they will be in my quiver again this year along with Rage's. The Tekan's are similar to Rage's in the way that they open. They both are rearward opening heads which makes the KE loss very minimal. Reaerward opening mechanicals are the way to go if you are a mechanical broadhead guy in my opinion. From my experiences, the Tekan II is a lot tougher than the Rage but BOTH will get the job done adequately. The Rage will leave a larger hole.
However, I haven't had the opportunity to play with the new Tekan's. They didn't change much though.

The new ones have a smaller tip and a larger cutting diameter, it was increased to 1.5 inches. They also serrated the front of the blades to help ensure full deployment. If I was to shoot an expandable the teken would deffinetly be the one. Ive played around with the new striker magnums and for a 1.5inch cutting diameter fixed blade it flies great. My buddy was shooting them out of his x force and getting great flight out to 70 yards, not bad for 320fps.

The Tekan II's are illegal to use in New York state . The Rage 2 blades are legal but the Rage 3 blades are illegal due to the way they lock . The Tekan II's fly great !
