RE: Set up for shooting turkey with a bow?
Thank you guys. I was looking for information on that subject as well. I was thinking of using a mechanical head with as wide a cut as possible for my head. I have also read and makes sense in thery to shoot for the hips. With no hips the bird cannot fly, and cannot run so you can get him. Has anyone tried this?

Buck Magnet I use 100gr spitfires {Gobbler Getters}with muzzy Grasshoppers just so you don't just blow clean through them .I think they have a harder time getting too far with the arrow still in them than without. This is my opinion maybe I'm wrong but it work's for me

Thanks guy. I really appreciate it. I had no clue what to use and where to aim. I guess that I will do some more research, get some good turkey broadheads and try my luck this spring. Thanks again.
Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)

Buck Magnet, now that you have some good ideas on the type of head to use, here is another thing I have learned about hunting gobblers in PA. You gotta have a decoy. I do not care to remember how many times I tried to draw on a bird that was looking straight away from me, and still got caught. The only way I have been able to get away with it, is by having their head blocked by their fan. I`m sure you know what a lovesick gobbler does as soon as he sees a decoy.

I use the same bow & setup for turkey as everything else, muzzy 3 blad, ACC's & 70 lb pull. I like shooting them in the back legs where it joins the body, blow out the hips & whack that main artery & that bird ain't going nowhere!

O, I got that one covered. What love sick gobbler is going to resist my 6 Feather Flek hen decoys. Gosh, those three big gobblers might get in a fight in front of me. Heck, they might kill each other, that would save me the hassle of drawing back my bow. hahaha
