Heck i practice back to 70 yards, but as far as shooting a deer my preference would be to shoot 40 and under.. I feel like practicing at 65-70 yards really makes it alot easier to shoot up close.. No if I were on the ground and had a calm deer and no wind I would try a 50 yard shot, but it will likely never happen.

20 yards on most days, sometimes even less. Depends how me and the recurve are getting along! There has been a few different years where I was deadly out to 25 yards. 22 yards has been my farthest shot with my recurve, its happened twice and both times I double lunged and heart shot the deer.

40 yards would be maxing out for me. I know I can hit a target at 60 yards, but wouldn't feel comfortable taking a shot at more than 40, unless it is a huge buck that is about to get away.

I am not sure I understand. You would take a shot at a range that you were not confidant in and were uncomfortable making just because it was a big buck?

30yd and under. Preferably 20 and under. I like them up close and personal. I practice further out, but a lot can go wrong on stand, and I don't like the idea of wounding a deer just because I "think" I can hit out to 50-60yds.

That doesn't make much sense and potrays a bad image for hunters - if you aren't 100% confident you have no business releasing an arrow

Ditto for me, but I will try to keep it under 40 yards.

I have my bow sited in to 50 yards and was out last weekend and had about a 5 inch spread so I am fairly confident I can take one at that distance but everything would have to be perfect
