I don't think it is wrong to not want to hunt a certain way but I think it is wrong to actively bash it. Just don't say anything or, if an undecided asks you about it, tell them you aren't familiar with it and don't understand it. That's the truth and it doesn't bash it.

very good point Bruce, I see what you are saying. I just don't know if defending any type of hunting is always good. I mean many of us have differing opinions about certain types of hunting, it is our right and we feel this way for a reason, we are convicted to feel this way by our consience, is that wrong? I mean that's like telling someone they are wrong for voting for a particular person, it's what they feel is best, though we may not believe it is, it is to them.
You're absolutely right. It's the way you feel. It's your opinion and you're entitled to it and you're entitled to voice it. But Bruce is right also. Let's say, hypothetically, that everyone on hereand everywhere else bashes "giraffe hunting" (sorry) or"high fence"hunting and enough undecided folks turn the tide inpopular opinionand one of those two presently "totally legal" ways of hunting are suddenly declared illegal. Do you really not think that setting that precedent is going to make it easier to have the next "unpopular" hunting method banned? Where will the banning stop once it manages to gain a foothold?

I agree with most that has been said.

However, I think that shooting animals in pens should be outlawed in every state. And here's why.

No matter how it is looked at. No matter what point of view. No matter how "ethical" the shot or hunter is. The underline point that all anti's and "undecided" people see is that IT'S SHOOTING ANIMALS IN A CAGE!!!!!!!

I dont care what anti's think, i am not worried about hunting being banned. i would just poach illegaly it was to ever get banned, which i wont. now banning certainguns that could be a possibility, but i already have all the guns that i NEED. so i dont care to much about that either.

these are great responses guys, everyone has made solid statements, I can agree with both sides here, I certainly never want to ban any hunting if it's legal, even if I think it's wrong. I will look more closely at how I choose to express those feelings from here on out.

to me strutntom, it doesn't, but I can't press my ethical values on anyone else. I don't understand high fences, but there seems to be a big market for it and wether I like it or not, it's legal and according to a lot of people that is all the justification that is needed.

Its not the anti's we have to worry about. Its the people who are undecided. We shouldn't have to walk on egg shells. We should be aware of our actions and what effect they have on the people who could eventually decide our fate.
Enough said!! Its the non hunters that we have to show our utmost respect to. Thats the biggest majority of people we have to make a good impression on. Be respectfull and we'll be just fine I believe.
