Default The case of the dissapering Rage BH.

Ok all you dectives, help me out here and tell me im probably wrong/crazyOn the the 29th here in Indiana i was able to take my turkey with a Rage broadhead. The shot was half in and half out when the turkey scooted to the wood line edge. He had four buddys start kicking his kiester. He managed to drag himself in the woods about another 15yards before expiring while his buddys were relentless. As i entered the woods to collect my prize i basically had to run the other birds off. The arrow was now laying about 10 yards from the bird -minus- the $Rage$ broadhead [>:]I noticed when one of the other birds was running off it was hobbling somewhat. I did not think much about it at the time but after using a metal detector and scouring the forest floor witch is only pine needles i have came up with nothing. My question to you, is it possable that while jumping all over this bird that one had impaled himself somewhat, and managed to somehow take my broad head with it? (call me crazy, [8D]well dont, but ya know)Damit these things are $39.00 for three and i want it back jack!! WHAT HAPPENED PEOPLE??

one of those other turkeys took it. The fight scene was a distraction. they are now building an arrow and bow to go with it. I would stay out of that area!!!

Hey Blood was the Rage unscrewed from the arrow or was the arrow broke???

BTW...
You know it could have been a conspiray--The buddies stole the Rage head to keep you from gettin them---
the one limping was a trick so you wouldn't spot the one with the Rage head tucked under his wing!!!!LOL

Sorry Magic--you beat me to the thought!!!

Magic ... I LOVE your posts

Dan .. that is weird .... maybe the mosquitos are the ones that snagged it and are looking to use it as a newer, more advanced blood letting weapon ....whatever the case ... I'm with Magic ... STAY OUT OF THE AREA!!!!

This is going to sound like a strange question, but as the turkey was running off, which way was the broadhead sticking out of the bird... his left or his right?

I would say if the bird was flapping around, he probably unscrewed it, no telling if another bird took it to show the kids- thats how they get educated - this is what killed your pops - stay away

I shot a doe once and had a similar experience. After the shot, she tore off with the arrow sticking out the side of her. I found the arrow about 50 yards into the blood trail. The heaedwas an early model expanable, broadhead that was difficult to really tighten. The broadhead was unscrewed and missing. The Rage's can be difficult to get super-tight also.

Probably the broadhead just came unscrewed. It could have been kicked/moved by the other turkeys.

I shot 4 deer with Rages and only got three back in usable condition = cost of doing business. As long as you retrieved the turkey, I contend that you are ahead of the game. No pun intended.
