Default High Def Hunting shows

I don't know if you all have noticed but the quality of video on the outdoor networks is pretty bad. With the transition to High Def in the next year I'm curious to see how the makers of these shows and the networks handle this transition. I have yet to see any hunting shows or DVD's for that matter in HD. Is there anything out there? I can't wait to see some of these shows in High Def. I think it will take bowhunting on video to a whole new level.

I've got around 100 HD channels now. Slowly most channels on DirecTV are offering programming in HD. I'm curious to see how far behind the curve these outdoor channels are.

I agree HD will be sweet...I think we have 5 years until everything is switched totally...I hate this thought because I will have to spend money on new cams to keep up with my wedding video side bizz...

3CCD mini DV sure is sweet though...

Yep, the switch is to digital, not HD. Satellite is already digital, so no change until the channels broadcast in HD. HD is easier said than done. So much more to it than going out to get a HD cam and filming in HD...it is not just the cams MW74, it is the editing programs, tons more memory needed, codec compatibility issues, and more powerful editing machines.

I think you will start seeing some of the bigger names putting out blue ray dvd's soon. We thought about it, but still not enough consumers out there with players to justify the cost to someone our size.

All that said, I agree a 3 ccd mini dv cam turns out footage that is unbelievable looking if done right.

I just got HD today and I am loving the discovery channel and Versus. I wish the hunting channels would get with the program

Its all going digital not HD........theres a big difference between digital and HD. If you already have cable or satelite you arent going to see the change because youre already seeing a digital picture....

The "Versus" channel is available in HD now on Dish Network and it does look quite impressive when the hunting shows are on. I have not had the opportunity to watch it much though with everything going on. I eagerly await seeing the Outdoor Channel, and others, make the transition aswell.

Anybody know what happened to that new hunting channel that was supposed to pop up on Channel 230 for Dish Network back in February? I remember reading about it on one of the forums but it never seemed to materialize...at least not from what I have seen.
