Quik's post got me to thinking.....

IF your wife/girlfriend laid down the ulimatum.....what would your choice be?

Her.......or hunting?

unequivocally.........I'd choose "her".

Well, I hunt with my wife, so I guess I have both worlds. I think I would choose hunting if it came right down to it. She would divorce me anyway because I would be an ornery S.O.B. during hunting season if I couldn't go.

With out a doubt I would choose hunting. I was hunting long before I met any women in my life. If they know me and love me the way they should, then they would understand that hunting is a part of who I am and should have accepted that before we got married. I say should, but the first wife didn't, and I guess that is how ex's are made.

If I was in that situation the relationship is beyond repair IMHO. It's really impossible to have a healthy relationship with ultimatums like this. I would do everything in my power to compromise, meet in the middle, and put forth effort to cultivate a healthy relationship so that it would never reach this point.

I've already discussed this with my wife and told her that if ever put in that position I would stand by my commitment and oath to her and God and stay with her and quit hunting. The caveat to that I told her is that I would be so miserable and my contempt and resentment toward her for putting me through that would be so great that she wouldn't want to be with me anymore anyway.

It's safe to say that she'll never put our relationship in that position.

Yeah if mine laid down an ultimatum, she may find herself very disappointed.. However this can be situational, I mean if I hunted all the freaking time and gave her nor my kids the time of day, then I oculd understand. However I try to keep things balanced to where everyone is happy and hse sees that so there is no need for ultimatums. She dont like when I go sometimes but she gets over it, or she picks on me whenI dont kill anything saying I should have just stayed home... AHHHHH women, cant live with them, cant kill them.....
