I could let her answer this one and it is selfishhunting all the way!! But she would never do that because she knew what hunting meant to me before she married me!! Heck most of the time she finds out like a day or maybe two that I am heading back out on the road again!! She is the most awesome wife in the world!! Walt

BigCountry....."You either believe in the Word of God or you don't. Its that simple."

We are not talking about God on here....we are talking about the original question, yet you seem to infuse god with all of your "answers".

I am sure the Word of God says, "do exactly what your wife wants, when she wants it or you are not following my word."

Like I said before, minus a hobby becoming an obsession where you are gone from the home 6-7 days a week, someone shouldn't ask you to stop doing it.

You bet ya, God's in everything. Everybody has access to the handbook to life. Sorry you disagree. But once again, its not unusual for people to disagree on forums. Especially this one. Have a good one.

VAShadow, its cool.5 years ago, my attitude would have gotten on my own nerves with my love for God. Everything is different now from 5 years ago.

We are cool.

I think alot of us are on the same page. For instance, I just had a newborn, and basically missed all Turkey season. The old mark with the 1st wife, would have left her alone with the newborn, and said, "I am hunting".Some on this page wouldhave not missedTurkey huntingprobably. I dont' think youhave left yoru wife alone VA.The new Mark, decided to skip the season. Its ok, not the end of the world. As much as I missedit thisyear, I am so glad Idid. Next week, I will be going to a 4 day traditional event.(I will be home every night) I told my wife, I will cancel. I am supposed to build a hickory or osage selfbow in that time. I signed up months ago. She insisted I go. She said she will line out some help for the baby.

Now, if I did what I wanted and went turkey hunting, and didn't sacrafice for her, I am sure her attitude would have been different about the Traditional Classic bow build.

So bottom line is, if it comes to the point where you wife has to ask you to quit (with the stipulation its always been ok before and she knew it was important too you) , your doing something wrong or you should have known better before you married her. I think most of us on here should know when to say, I have became obsessed. I have been on the verge the last few years of becomign obsessed, but I think I have reeled it in some. I am sure some don't.

Goodness, its a sad state of affair when bascially the whole page does not have thier priorities straight.
Would you mind explaining the above quoted statement?

Surely you are not questioning the state of my marriage, or just what I do to keep my family happy, and together?

You have no idea how any of us who responded to the thread handles our personal relationships, and to begin to presume otherwise is completely out of line.

Does anybody else think it's weird that theirs 2 big country's but only spelled differently.

If anybody comes into this site calling themselves DukeMikals I'm raising all sorts of Haitis.

It's like going to a party and someone else is wearing your shirt.
