Default Wife/Girlfriend hunting partners?? Why? Who?

I have seen on here several times and know of a few people who want or have there companinon go hunting with them.

My question is am I the only one who enjoys the fact that my girlfriend does not hunt? I go hunting to get away, I look at it as my time alone? I do bowhunt with my brothers on weekends generally, but am jumping at the chance to be able to take a weekday off from work and go by myself. I cant explain it but makes me feel much better?

Am I all alone here[&:]??

I will love it when my wife is able to come with me, but right now she cant because of our small children. But even when she does start hunting with me she wont go near as much as I do.. So it wont be that bad.. I hope she kills more than I do....

I do enjoy sitting out with my wife during gun season, she is the primary shooter and I am there to provide a follow up shot if needed, in theory (we both missed this last season[:@]won't bore ya'll with the litany of excuses)

She has lately taken up her bow with the idea that maybe she can get good enough (read strong enough) to try her hand at bow hunting this fall, and if not this year maybe next year.

I say great, but this is also not gun season, she will have to learn to hunt on herown and figure out what does and doesn't work, before I met her she did gun hunt alone,so this isvery achievable.

I may even sit with her a couple times at the begining of the season, or set up near-by to watch, but after that she is on her own, isn't that part of the draw of archery? Thestillness, the silence, the alertness that are all needed for deer huntingbut more so with a bow inyour hand.....

I would much rather have my g/f out in the woods with me hunting then anything else, that would be a dream come true for me to be in that situation. Problem is, is that my g/f could care less about hunting. She don't mind me doing it but to be honest about it I wish she would be more interested. I think we would have a much better relationship. Pick your women wisely if this is what you want to do, I didn't but I sure wish I would've. All in all my g/f is a sweetheart though.

My boyfriend was the one that got me back into hunting and loves to hunt with me, we love to be together and are best friends.

I think its strange that you would want to get away from your girlfriend when hunting can bring people closer together, its great for bonding with someone you love.

I think it would be great to get my g/f to go out with me a few times. Maybe not everytime because it's nice to have time with the guys.

I did talk her into going to a 3d shoot with me this sunday. Should be a good time. She'll get to meet the great GREG/MO.

Definitely not my Girlfriend is a non-hunter in fact she thinks what we do is cruel however she knows how passionate I am about it and accepts the fact that she just doesnt understand it.

I look at my time hunting as something very relaxing to get away from the hectics of life(still a couple more years until my girlfriend is converted and my two year old is old enough)

I enjoy having my wife take an intrest, and participate in the things that I enjoy doing. She decided that she wanted to bow hunt this fall, so since last November she ahs been practicing, she did not want to go to the woods without being sure she could make the shot. She is progressing nicely, and should be in the stand with me this fall.
I figure if she can experiance for herself, what I experiance in the woods, she will be more understanding of the time that I put in out there.

I just got Trish (my g/f) a bow in hopes that she can occasionaly come out and enjoy the outdoors with me. I cherish a lot more than the kill and hunt when I'm out there and think its good to share those things if you can.....or we may be out there for 5 minutes and she'll be on her phone texting her friends about how bored she is. lol. Never know, but we are going to give it a try!

My girlfriend shoots and has no problem with hunting but has no desire to do it. And to be honest that is perfectly fine with me. I agree with you, I would rather go alone most of the time. If she showed an interest or wanted to go I would take her though. She does like to shoot her bow though and we have been trap shooting a few times.
