Wow, it looks like for those of you who have open seasons you are doing pretty awesome those are some beautiful birds. I am jealous. I can't wait to get back home. And thanks everybody for the warm welcome, I am glad to be back.

So far, my season is going great! Lots of birds down, and all on video.

I got a 31 yard shot at a big strutting tom on April 15th - arrow hit a little low of center chestand he wound up with about 16" of arrow sticking out his backside. After some thrashing around, he managed to break off the Easton Axis FMJ about even with his body and made off into the tamarisk jungle. Didn't bleed a drop - presumably because the nock end of the arrow was still stuck in his body, plugging the hole.
Kind of a disappointment - but got the whole thing on video for posterity. And a broken/bent Axis FMJ to hang on the trophy wall. [8D]

It's been tough for me in Oklahoma. Lot's of birds but the hens are late leaving them this year. Many encounters but they just wont work a call for me. Never had a season like this before.
